Examinations

Students’ success in the examination is an important metric to evaluate our own performance. Judging from this angle, we have done a very good job. Result of FE, SE TE and BE Examinations are declared recently by Savitribai Phule Pune University and I am proud to say that our results are better than University Average. Many students secured first class and Distinction marks in these examinations.

Third-party Evaluations

Our college is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore. Self Study Report for second NAAC accreditation is submitted by college. E&TC, Electrical, Mechanical and Printing Engineering Programme are accredited twice by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. Post-graduate program in Electrical Engineering (Power System) is also accredited for the duration of three years by NBA. Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has accredited our college. Therefore, Forbes Marshal, Atlas Copco, and many industries have accepted the proposals of training our students and faculty members. More than 450 students have undergone Internship training after the completion of third year. This is one of the efforts taken by the college to improve employability of students.

Industry-Institute-Interaction

Dean Industry-Institute Interactions is appointed by college. Dr.Mrs.Surekha Deshmukh is working on this post. Dr.Mrs.Deshmukh and Assistant Training and Placement Officer Mr.Avinash Pore are putting significant efforts to provide adequate training to students. Cocubes Technologies Pvt.Ltd has given responsibility to provide training to students and also support training and placement cell to improve placement of students. PVG’s COET has signed the Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with many well-known organizations such as I-Bus, CADD Centre, 3DPLM Software Solutions Ltd.SeeGreen Solutions LLP, Knowledge Park, IIT Bombay Alumni Association, Pune Division, Maven Systems Pvt. Ltd, Texas Instruments, India Smart Grid Forumand many more industries.

Large numbers of industry sponsored projects are offered to students. We encourage and fully support Internship activities for our students. Industrial experts and professional agencies impart training to students in the fields of – Soft skills development, interview techniques and presentation skills.

Audit Program on Solar Thermal System, Solar Photovoltaic System. Virtual Lab, Lego Kits, Finance for Engineers, Integration between different sources of energy. Creativity and Entrepreneurship are started for SE, TE and BE Students.Japanese Language and German Language Learning facility is available for college students

The college has signed an MOU with Wipro Technologies for training the trainers. In all, 77 faculty members have undergone specialized training and certification course on high impact presentation skills. This important activity has played a key role in uplifting the quality of teaching-learning process, at our college.

Many students and faculty members are trained and certified for DB-II, RAD and Lotus through IBM Center of Excellence which is functional in Computer Engineering Department of the college.

Avery Dennison Foundation Scholarship Program

The prestigious Avery Dennison Foundation InvEnt (Invention + Entrepreneurship) Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and reward invention, innovation and excellence in high-achieving students which are studying in the fields of science, engineering, and technology at selected higher education institutions in India. PVG’s COET is one of the Institutes, wherein the scholarship is awarded. Mechanical Engineering and Printing Engineering students are eligible to participate in this activity. One-time scholarship worth S1300 is given to students.

PhD Research facilities

Dr.Mrs.Vrunda Joshi is appointed as Dean Research and Development. Presently, PhD research facility is available in Electrical Engineering, Printing Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments. Twelve students are registered for PhD program. Three candidates have already awarded with PhD degree.

e-library facility for Printing Engineering Department is an outcome of generous donation of Rs. 5 Lacs paid by Late V. G. Joshi Trust. UG and PG students of our college can avail this facility.

Atlas Copco had donated Rs.4.35 Lacs for one-meter scheme for our Central Library. Direct recruitment and financial support worth Rs.50,000/- is given to topper amongst girls in third year Electrical Engineering University Examination.

3D PLM Software Solutions Limited, Hinjewadi, Pune has donated Rs.11.00 Lacs to PVG’s COET, Pune. It is a CSR funded project to set up Product Innovation Lab through the financial assistance from industry. The purpose is to promote ‘Learn by Doing’ approach, provide a platform for students to acquire integrated engineering and multi-disciplinary skills, experiment with industry’s best software/hardware to bring product innovations, provide hands on practical experiences and industry exposure to the students and promote ‘Make in India’, ‘Start up’ culture amongst the engineering students community to understand the power of Integrated Engineering, advanced technologies like systems engineering, 3 D printing, Robotics, Intelligent Products and Engineering Automations. It will also provide research students industry exposure and motivate them to explore, design and develop new innovative products useful for society. All bonafidestudents of PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology, Pune can very well utilize the facilities developed in this laboratory.

Virtual Lab

Virtual Labs is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT). PVG’s COET is designated as Virtual Labs Regional Centre (VLRC) by IITB, Mumbai recently.

Objectives

  • To provide remote-access to Labs in various disciplines of Science and Engineering to cater to students at the undergraduate level 24 x 7.
  • To enthuse students to conduct experiments by arousing their curiosity and help them in learning basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation.

PVGCOET contributes to almost 18 % of the Usage data out of 42 Nodal centers IITB has in India.

E-Yantra Competition

Under the able leadership of Dr.Mrs.Vrunda Joshi and other members Prof.M.C.Nagoshe, Prof. Radha Ranjekar, Prof. Vaishali Gongane and students Mukund Ghole, Shreyas Nikate and Suman, E-Yantra Team of our college has won TBT-2015 challenge award with “Excellent” Comment. The scored 1142 marks!!
The team was awarded with Invitation and Full sponsorship to E-Yantra symposium from 10-13th April 2016 held at Mumbai.

E-Bike Competition

Electric bike is the need of future generation. The major benefits are its an eco-friendly competition which can brought a new revolution in the field of E-bikes. This event concludes the overall development of student in the field of manufacturing and design of vehicle. This event was organized at Bangalore to provide the student to aware of the future generation motorsports and can give new ideas in the field of electric bikes. I am very happy to announce that PVG’s College of Engineering & Technology, Pune Team MotoGreen is the winner of E-bike Championship. The team of our college has also bagged Best Innovation Award.

Patents

A patent filed by third year Mechanical Engineering course Amey V Kardile is registered.
A patent filed by students of E & Tc Engineering and Prof.P.G.Shete is also registered.

Student’s Welfare Scheme

The NSS unit of our college was established during the academic year 2009-10. Prof. Dr. S. V. Gawali is working as Students Welfare Officer of college. Prof.U.B.Sarode looks after National Service Scheme activity. Prof.MrsPriya Deshpande looks after Women’s Empowerment activities, Shri Avinash Pore looks after Skill Development activities and Mrs.VaishanviGadgil is looking after earn and learn scheme under Students Welfare Scheme of Savitribai Phule Pune University. Prof.Mrs.MinakshiAtre and Prof.Mrs.V.V.Sovani look after cultural activities of students. Prof.AnandNajan looks after sports activities of college.
Our students regularly participate in national and international level sports competitions. Students are routinely participating in inter-university sports competitions also. One of our students, Ms. BhagyashriShirke was adjudged as the most outstanding women athlete in the Youth Commonwealth Games.

We encourage students to participate in various co- and extracurricular activities like Purushottam and FirodiyaKarandak Competitions, Vedant Competitions etc. Our students participate in well-known Baha, Supra, Robocon, Avishkar and many such technical competitions and have won prizes at different levels. In short, all efforts are taken for the overall development of students.

The college has developed full-fledged video conferencing facility using A-view software (webinar type) in the Conference Hall.

Vacational training program facility is started for third year engineering students.

Adequate funds are allocated for various activities for the benefit of students. Gymkhana activities of our college provide platform for students for honing skills required in cultural and sports events.
